Work Placement outside of the Center - places emphasis on the development of social interaction and work skills, facilitating the students’ eventual independence and integration into society.
As our students approach the end of their academic studies The Center starts their Prevocational Training. This involves visits to various organizations within the community where they can experience different environments and varied work tasks to prepare them hopefully to take their place within the working community, for which they have a moral right.
The DCSN is always interested in any company or organization that would like to help us in this project. Our students normally visit their prevocational placing once a week for no more than one hour. Students are always accompanied by our trained staff in order to keep any inconvenience to the placement's staff as minimal as possible.
Work placements not only provide our students with the opportunities to develop skills, but also give them a means to a purposeful life thereby providing them with confidence and self esteem. These essential values are important milestones in marking their progress in society and gaining recognition from members of the community.
Our pre-vocational department endeavors to provide our older students with job-related skills.
The Dubai Center for Special Needs is extremely grateful to:
DHL Express
Emirates Flight Catering
Gulf Cobla
Jumeirah Emirates Towers
Kempinski Hotel
National Bank of Dubai
Renaissance Dubai Hotel
Tellurian Book Production
The Charity Shop
The One
Union Co-operative Society
These companies have graciously opened their doors and welcomed our students by offering them hands on training in technical careers that fit their capabilities. At the Center, these students, under the care and guidance of our dedicated staff, work every day to improve and maximize their capabilities, leading to even greater competence and potential.
We are always looking for companies who would be willing to offer training to some of our students on a weekly basis in accordance to their capabilities.
