HOW TO HELP

Dubai Center for Special Needs is fortunate enough to have a large number of people helping at the Center on a voluntary basis. These volunteers work in various sections of the Center and in various capacities, like spending individual time with the students while following a program set by the staff, or working with and supporting the teachers and therapists.

The volunteers commit themselves to a regular time each week, at a time that is convenient to them and the needs of the Center. Their work becomes an integral part of the class or the student program in which they are involved. The hours put in by the volunteer make a real contribution to the life of the Center, and the students benefit in many ways from their presence and assistance.

Being a non profit charity, donations and fund raising activities help cover the tremendous financial obligations that go along with providing the high standards of services that DCSN offers.

The underlying foundation, upon which the very existence of DCSN rests, is the kind and generous support we receive from individuals, groups, organizations and private companies throughout the community. Just as our students are the heartbeat, so to are our supporters the very backbone of DCSN.

One often asks "how can I help DCSN?"

You could help not just with a donation of a cheque, but also with sponsorship of a student, as we have many parents who cannot afford to pay for their child’s fees.
You could pick an item of equipment that is urgently required at the Center from our wish list and purchase it for us.
If you are in the media or in the field of public relations, you could help us with printing, publications and promoting the center through your contacts.
You could also volunteer a fixed amount of time on a regular basis to help out at the Center with music, art, drama, or any other creative skills that you might excel at.

We need more people involved as there is still a lot to be done, and a lot to achieve.
